corona real estate: Is Real Estate a Pandemic Resistant Industry?

The US way of conducting life and business has changed recently with the Pandemic of 2020. My businesss is real estate and it is certainly affected what I am seeing compared to last last year.
We all have heard that certain types of industries are economic downturn or depression resitant and that my go for pandemics too.
For years industries resistant to downturns have been:
1. Groceries 2. Drugs 3. Gasoline (people need to get to work) 4. Clothing (people need to wear clothes) 5. Personal hygiene and beauty projects (people try to look good even when times are bad)
People need these goods and services even during a downturn
Besides our businesses even going out into the world for a jog or a visit to the grocery store is all done with a different approach as we all adapt to living in a world with a pandemic. Some people still are too afraid to leave their homes while others do go out and wear masks and socially distance themselves and adapt so we can meet client needs and earn a living. I am a REALTOR® and I know that buying or selling a home can be stressful enough without worrying about the Corona virus and touching of door knobs, shaking hands with clients, escrow officers, and home inspectors not to mention running out of hand sanitizer. Maybe I can help with another point of view. We cannot sell a home without leaving the office.
Of course we have other stressful parts of our jobs like looking at the amortization schedule and interest paid over 30 years, other terms such as Inspection, Appraisal, Repossession, Delinquent, Credit Report, Taxes, and Mortgage Insurance, Deed, Hazard Insurance, Title … (2 comments)
