The Scottsdale real estate market continues to follow the trend of the valley as a whole. Sales are up, active listings down. However, it seems the bargain hunters have now discovered Scottsdale and are driving down the average sale price a bit. There are still some fantastic bargains in Scottsdale right now. And when the market picks up full swing again, the homes in Scottsdale are going to appreciate at about double the rate of homes in other parts of the valley. Get in now while the gettin's good.

In our continuing series of posts featuring golf courses in and around Phoenix, AZ, Legend Trail Golf Course in North Scottsdale is this week's featured golf course.
Located about 15 miles north of downtown Scottsdale Legend Trail is a public course that offers players of all levels challenging and unique shots throughout each round. It's wide fairways and sweeping vistas of the Sonoran Desert have earned it a ranking as one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 Golf Courses.
The Rees Jones designed course is a par 72 course with a total playing distance of 6,845 yards.

golf: Windermere Foundation - Charity Golf Tournament

One of the reasons I chose to hang my real estate license with Windermere Real Estate was due to the sense of community the company exudes and the charitable nature of the organization.
In 1989 Windermere Real Estate established the Windermere Foundation. Through contributions from agents ($7.50 from every transaction is automatically contributed to the foundation) and fundraising events conducted by the agents themselves, the Windermere Foundation has raised millions of dollars, benefitting thousands of families and children throughout the western United States.

Now's the time of the year we love in Phoenix. The weather is starting to cool, but the skies are blue. And typically we see our real estate market heat up as well. That being said, we have seen a tremendous uptick in activity during our summer months as well.
My business partner, Ben Bailey, has prepared some graphs that show indeed, the real estate market here in Phoenix is heating up.

On June 7th at the beautiful Ironwood Country Club in Anthem Arizona the Professional Resource Group, a network of business professionals located in Anthem, in conjunction with Windermere Real Estate hosted the Second Annual Links For... tournament. This year's recipient was the United Blood Centers of Arizona. To read more about the tournament click here.

On June 7th at the Ironwood Country club the Professional Resource Group will be hosting it's second annual charity golf tournament. This year's title sponsor once again is Windermere Real Estate.
The Professional Resource Group is a networking/leads group that I helped form in Anthem over three years ago. We started with 4 people and have grown over the years to as many as 22 members.
This year's golf tournament benefits the United Blood Centers of Arizona. Last year the tournament raised over $6,000 on behalf of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. This year we hope to match or beat that amount.

On my morning run this morning I was thinking to myself, "how great is it that I can run, in shorts, at 5AM, outside, in early March, and not be freezing." That is the reason we live in Arizona. The winter months were a bit chilly, but again, not so bad that I couldn't run on most mornings. Sure it gets hot during the summer, but in the mornings it is beautiful. And not just for running. My father and I play tennis on Sundays and this past weekend was perfect tennis weather. 78 degrees and no wind. Golf, you betcha. Biking, hiking, … (1 comments)

There are more golf courses in Maricopa County (Phoenix, Scottsdale, etc.) than they're are McDonalds. Next to Florida, Arizona is a golfer's haven. There are a tremendous number of world class golf resorts here and just as many or more golf course communities. Of course the winter months are the high season when the weather is nice, but the summertime is not bad either. If you get out early enough you'll avoid the midday heat and be able to golf at some of the world's most beautiful and prestige courses for a fraction of the price of the peak season.

Anthem Arizona is my home. So I may be biased. However, I have not seen another community like it in all the U.S. For those unitiated, Anthem is a master planned community located in the northern most part of Phoenix built by Del Webb beginning in 1999. I is now nearing completion with only a few dozen more homes left to be completed. It is a community of about 35,000 people. All the family and friends I have had to visit over the 3 years we have lived here are all in agreement that it is one of the most beautiful and family … (3 comments)
