baby boomers: Baby Boomers Cannot Disconnect From Work
- 01/10/15 03:32 AM
This generation cannot disconnect from work. Baby boomers plan to take an average four to five leisure trips in 2015, about on par with 2014, an AARP survey says. — Howard Lipin I thought this reprint from AARP rather interesting for the Baby BoomGeneration inasmuch as we seem to fit this model to a T. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the foreseeable future as Baby Boomers continue to be challenged with the dicotomy of being able to juggle their retirement years and there ability to live out (2 comments)
Today, America is blessed with about $21.7 trillion dollars according to the Investment Company Institute. But with 78 million Boomers hitting their retirement years will that be enough? That's the big question. When our parents retired, "The Greatest Generation", the average lifespan was 65 years old. Today many Boomers are living into their mid to late 80's in relatively healthy condition. There are more Centurions than ever before in history. While all of this sounds good what does it really mean for our economy and that 21.7 trillion dollars? (10 comments)

What's ahead for San Diego's multifamily market? I was particularly interested in what this journalist had to say about 'BABY BOOMERS' inasmuch as it is a signicant it is quite relevent to our niche in the "Manufactured Housing Inustry" as tens of thousands of BB's will be reaching retirement age daily for the next 20 plus years. However, let's not forget how the BB's (1 comments)

Repost: Inasmuch as we are involved in an industry (Manufactured Housing) and in an area (San Diego 'America's Finest City') I though the AR community might find this article interesting. By Melissa Erickson More Content Now Posted Jan. 24, 2014 @ 8:04 pm Jan 24, 2014 at 8:05 PM
In the past, older Americans may have accepted weight gain and reduced mobility as part of aging, but not so for baby boomers. (3 comments)
What will 77 plus million BB's do with all their two-story homes and large estates when they no longer wish to negotiate staircases or large property maintenance responsibilities?
Could we BABY BOOMERS be the next housing
$BOOM$?

Demographors & prognosticators are having lot's of fun with this one. Many think BB'S will drag & drain the economy to its knees with all of our ENTITLEMENTS. OR That we haven't saved and prepared enough for our retirement. Or that our mounting HEALTH CARE COSTS could (2 comments)

10,000 Baby Boomers Turning 65 Every Day For The Next 20 Years To The Tune of 77,000,000. The trend in our market shows that Baby Boomers will be downsizing to smaller homes, condos, retirement communities, manufactured home communitites and even un assisted or assisted retirement homes. baby boomers: Are "Baby Boomers" Still Viable Candidates For Home Ownership? Or Will They Be Just As Happy To Become Renters?

Are "Baby Boomers" Still Viable Candidates For Home Ownership? Or Will They Be Just As Happy To Become Renters? s 10,000 Baby Boomers will be hitting retirement age everyday for the next 15 to 20 years. Many if not most, and I am one of them, currently own large 3 to 5 bdm homes with big yards and lots of ongoing maintenance issues. They're now starting to downsize by the thousands. Anybody have a crystal ball? What do you think all these folks will do for housing for the rest of their lives? I've got my thought but I'd like to get (3 comments)
