Breast Cancer Awareness Month Is Over but Support Is Still Required

Leander McClain, Realtor

Last year a friend called me with some devastating news.   She was a relatively healthy 48 year old African American woman.  Over time she started feeling more tired than usual.  She ignored it for awhile, but when she began to lack the energy to get out of bed in the morning, she went to the doctor.  Many tests were performed and a diagnosis could not be made. Then she started experiencing bone and joint pain to go along with the weakness.  More tests were performed … (4 comments)

realtor: Cherry Hill, NJ Point Of Woods 2009 Annual Sales Report by Leander McClain, Realtor - 12/29/09 02:28 AM
Point of Woods Homes Sales 2009
(It's All About MONEY!)
Well we have come to end of 2009.  It's time to look at the home sales for 2009.  The table below shows the homes sales began to pick up during the second half of the year.  The first home sold at the end of July.  However, since that time,  8 additional homes have sold.
The average Point of Wood home sold for 96% of asking price (without any seller assistance) and took an average of 3.7 months to sell.
What does this all mean?  Homes that are priced right are selling quickly.
Does this mean that … (2 comments)

realtor: New Airline Security Procedures by Leander McClain, Realtor (Dec 2009) - 12/28/09 02:23 AM

New Airline Security Procedures
December 2009
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) implemented new security policies following the attempt to bomb a Delta flight on Christmas day. If you are traveling within the United States, you will probably not see many of the new measures in action.  Those traveling into the country from an international destination will see more of the new measures.
International travelers can expect to see additional security measures at international airports such as increased gate screening including pat-downs and bag searches. During flight, passengers will be asked to follow flight crew instructions, such as stowing personal items, … (6 comments)

 Cherry Hill,NJ Home Sales
for Homes Sold November 1-20, 2009 by Leander McClain, Realtor
I decided to continue including the asking price along with the sold price in my home sales report.  You may ask why is this important?  I wll tell  you.
Buyers, notice that the average home in Cherry Hill sold at approximately 94-95% of the asking price.  What that means to you is that a home that is priced correctly will not be selling at a bargain basement price of 50% off list price, but at a reasonable amount below the asking price.  This is the rule and … (1 comments)

Cherry Hill Home Sales Report
September 2009
by Leander McClain.

Whoever said that real estate was not selling, forgot to tell the buyers in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Over the past month, 71 homes have sold.  I've had people tell me that Cherry Hill is an expensive town.  However, 17 of the houses that sold were under $200,000.  The average price of the homes sold was $271.000.  I  think those prices are excellent.
A very important thing to notice is that the average property in Cherry Hill sold for 95% of the asking price.  This means that homes are begining to … (3 comments)

Fall Mums: Voorhees, Cherry Hil, Evesham, NJ by Leander McClain, Realtor
This weekend, on my way back from the dentist, I ran across a farm in my neighborhood that was selling mums & pumpkins.  As I pulled in, the farmer was coming in from the field with a load of freshly dug mums & pumpkins.  The flowers were absolutely beautiful.  There were yellows, reds, rust, purples, whites and more.  Each flower was full of blooms.  I just knew that my wife would love these on the front steps of our home.
After, the farmer parked his vehicle, we struck up a … (3 comments)

Recently, my wife and I ripped up the carpet in my home.  We discovered wonderful hardwood floors.  Unfortunately, the floors were not covered when the previous owner had the walls painted.  In addition, a wall had been removed and hardwood planks were missing.
We called several people to take a look at the job.  We met people with various experience and prices.  The person that we ultimately chose was Bill Artz of Big League Floors.   We could not have chosen a better person to refinish our floors.  Bill … (4 comments)

realtor: Business Recommendation ~ Donald Brooks, Carpet Installer by Leander McClain, Realtor - 09/22/09 02:06 AM
Many of you know that I recently moved into a new home.  In the midst of moving and renovating the new home, I have come across some skilled trademan who are worth recommending.
The first person I am recommending is my carpet installer.  Mr. Donald J. Brooks, Jr is an excellent carpet installer.  We were able to purchase carpet at less than retail (through Mr. Brooks contacts).  Mr. Brooks removed the old carpet, installed new carpet and stretched carpet that was not being replaced.  He was detail oriented and knowledgeable.  The thing that I really like about Mr. Brooks is that he is … (4 comments)

I am asked all the time...How's business.  My answer for the past 3 years has been GREAT!!.  There is a misconception that real estate has tanked and nothing is selling.  Or that both buyers and sellers are getting screwed.  The bottom line is that there are great bargains available for both buyers and sellers.  If you are interested in how I can help you make your dreams ome true, feel free to call my office and set up and appointment with me.  We will discuss your dreams and … (1 comments)
