Where is Daytona Beach, compared to other cities in Florida? How many miles are between certain cities? Where is Port Orange, in relation to Daytona Beach? These are just a few of the questions I frequently find on my blog posts. So when someone asks me how far we are from another city in Florida, I jump over to my home page which happens to be iGoogle, and click the "Maps" button at the top of the page. I then type in the other city so I can see exactly where that city is, in Florida. Sometimes the questions are vague... (9 comments)
Port Orange real estate sales have been slow, as have all areas of Volusia county. So I decided a market update was in order. I've had so few real estate calls lately that I'd be checking to make sure my phone is working if it weren't for the calls I was getting from parties who were interested in renting my condo conversion project listing. For this update, I gleaned the information from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS® and decided to share it with you. As of November 15, 2007 there are 972 active MLS listings (1 comments)
port orange fl: A Warning for Port Orange Home Sellers!
- 10/09/07 06:04 PM
I received a Citizen Alert e-mail from the Port Orange police department that there is a couple targeting homes in Port Orange, with "For Sale" signs in their yards. Follow the link above, for the description of the couple. The system they're using is to show up unannounced, claiming that they are interested in buying a home. The male is doing most of the talking. Once inside the house, the female will wander off, as if looking at the house. After they leave, sellers are discovering that they are missing their credit cards. They are claiming to be from Fayetteville, NC, parts of Georgia, (5 comments)
I just found out some alarming news. Yesterday, I was on my way to the home inspection for a house I sold over the weekend in Quiet Place in the Country, in Port Orange Florida. On my way, I was surprised to find that traffic was backed up for several miles on Dunlawton and Taylor Road. (It's the same road, but the name changes as you pass under I-95) This type of heavy traffic is very abnormal for this area, except during Race Weeks in Daytona Beach when the traffic overflows into the neighboring cities. As I passed under the I-95 (2 comments)

I keep wondering, when I bring buyers to see a house, and compare the house itself, to the Daytona Beach MLS information, why I see not just discrepancies and mistakes, but sometimes what can only be defined as downright laziness on the part of the listing agent. A couple of days ago, while showing several houses, I found One that had no mention of the garage!?! One that had only 3 photos of a gorgeous home, when The Daytona Beach area Multiple Listing Service holds 12. One that had no mention of the pool ?? One that had no mention of (38 comments)
