Here comes the rain again - yippee!!! Although heavy morning rains can cause traffic difficulties, we are happy to see more rain moving through our Metroplex this morning. Our area lakes are still lower than they should be, and every drop of rain helps to raise their levels. Drive carefully, slow down and get to your destination safely!

Dallas Joins ‘Improving’ Housing Market List The National Association of Home Builders’ list of improving housing markets nearly doubled this month, as more cities showed signs of a rebound with their real estate markets. The list now contains 76 improving markets, up from 41 in December, according to NAHB’s and First American’s Improving Markets Index, a monthly gauge that measures a city’s improvements in housing permits, employment, and housing prices for at least six months. Dallas, TX has long provided a stable real estate environment. We here in the Dallas area knew that we were not part of the glutted or over priced markets that the media proclaimed were nation wide. The information reflected below shows a market that home buyers and investors can have confidence in. Dallas Home Sales in December offered both an increase in prices for the under $185,000 market, but once again a slight dip in their median sales prices for homes priced higher:

A chance of rain – always wonderful words to hear in our local weather forecast! Texas needs every drop of rain that we can get…but, we would prefer it not to come in the form of damaging thunderstorms! Our lakes are still well below the levels they should be at, from the severe summer drought. So, fingers crossed for a few nice rainy days ahead….thank you to the Fox 4 Dallas news for this hopeful 7-day forecast!

It’s a rainy Sunday in the Dallas area, I am happy to say. The weather professionals got it wrong…originally forecasting only a 20% chance of rain in the area, with the best chances remaining to the west. But, our prayers were answered and it has been a lovely rainy day – much needed rain. So, this is one time I am very pleased that the computer models got it wrong.
