I've passed by Newk's many, many times and have heard recommendation's that I should stop in for lunch some day and today was the day. I really didn't know what to expect or even what the menu offered, but it was late, I was hungry and there was Newk's.

Today I met a client at the Pane e Vino Pizzeria restaurant at the Huntsville Museum of Art and my view was this lake in Big Spring Park. Wish I could say my client found this little restaurant because of one of my blog posts, but she found it on her own and suggested we meet to go over the process of purchasing her new home. Dreamland BBQ, Huntsville Alabama...I can't believe I've been in this state for five years now and today was my first visit to Dreamland BBQ and it was not a disappointment. I've been to just about every other BBQ restaurant in town, chosen in part because of convenience. While Dreamland is not difficult to get to, I just never seemed to near it when time came for lunch. Anyway, today's visit to Dreamland worked out perfectly as I needed to get the oil changed in my car and the Dealer just happened to be across the street.

Applebees, Restaurant, Madison Alabama is not a restaurant that I go into a lot, mostly because they are always busy and I usually don't have time to sit and relax for a longer lunch. However, the times I have stopped by, the service has always been quick and friendly. The food consistent and good. At one time or another I've probably had each of their main entrees and have always been pleased...if there ever was an issue...they made it right. Pauli's Bar & Grill Madison Alabama Restaurant, so okay it doesn't look like much from the outside, but Pauli's Bar & Grill has been voted best restaurant in many categories. Steaks, seafood, desserts and chef by the ValleyPlanet readers poll. I don't know if all that's true, but after dining there in the past and having both steak and seafood I will agree that Pauli's has a cozy atmosphere and serves really good food. Drinks from the bar were well made and the tonic wasn't flat...always a plus in my book.

I've been eating at Thomas Bar-B-Q for the last 4 years...ever since I moved to Madison Alabama. There's no good excuse for not writing about it until now, but I'm glad the light finally went on. Thomas Bar-B-Q is owned and operated by James Thomas second generation in the same location for the last 44 years. His father Issac opened the business and taught his son the secret of success...put out an outstanding product with a huge side dish of friendly service.
