How to be the Perfect House Guest The holidays are wonderful yet can often create stress and lots of work. Maintaining an attitude of grace and joy can be stretched to the limit. Often, the stress created during the holidays can come from the guests in our homes.
The host and hostess have typically put in many hours of hard work preparing their home, laying out guest towels, stocking up on needed essentials, cooking and of course cleaning. Knowing that you are going to have guests in your home requires planning and smooth execution. Great entertaining does not happen by itself.
Even though our temperatures have been up in the 80's recently, the annual Ice Skating Rink is up here in The Woodlands. This is something that we all look forward to as there just are not that many rinks to visit in the area. Each year at the southwest corner of the Mall, the skating rink appears for a few months. The rink is open now through January 21, 2012 so there is a lot of time to get there and enjoy zipping around the ice. The regular hours of operation are: Monday–Thursday, … (7 comments)
The Thanksgiving weekend is coming to a close. What a blessing it is to spend time with friends and family. I so love this time of year with the smells from the kitchen, the sound of laughter and family all around. I so enjoy all of the traditions that we keep going from year to year. Can't believe that the Thanksgiving weekend is almost over. What a wonderful time we had with family and friends visiting. The house was at full swing with the hustle and bustle of people coming and going, food being prepared and laughter floating throughout. We enjoyed a very mixed Thanksgiving crowd. Along with our family, we invited a couple that has only been in this country for five weeks from Norway.
