The word came down today about the ruling on the Burnett v. NAR et al. case. The case is being appealed and we will all wait to see how this will play out. I believe we all need to keep an eye on this case as things progress through the appeal process.
Here is the information if you want to read about the verdict from today.  This case may very well change the entire buyer representation that we've all been accustomed to using. Time will certainly tell.
The article link above should answer most if not all of your questions regarding the case.

national association of realtors: What I Learned at the NAR Leadership Conference - 08/16/23 01:55 PM
I just returned home from Chicago after attending the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Conference. The theme that our incoming President, Tracy Kasper shared is to "Ignite Others". She laid out the six points of light and challenged us as members to help ignite.
Six Points of Light:
Financial Literacy
Community
Sustainability
Financial Wellness
Growing Future Leaders
Member Success
One of the most exciting initiatives is the High School Financial Education Program.
The goal of this program is to have a Realtor® visit every high school in the nation to share the dream of home ownership with our students. We are encouraged to apply to teach and reach our students … (12 comments)

national association of realtors: Who Is Going to the NAR Leadership Summit? - 07/29/23 09:53 AM
Calling all Active Rain members! Is anyone else going to the NAR Leadership Summit in August? I have been once before right before the world shut down. I have to say, it was really well worth my time.
I have been invited to attend by our state association, Texas Realtors, and will be representing our commercial division. I am the incoming Chairperson of the Commercial Committee for 2024. Having attended this before, I am looking forward to being there again.
If any of my AR buddies will be in Chicago that week, let me know. Wouldn't it be fun to meet up and … (11 comments)

national association of realtors: Why I Serve at the State Leadership Level - 09/18/22 01:26 PM
Just completed another Texas Realtors® Conference held in Ft. Worth, Texas also known as Cowtown! For four, straight days, leaders from all over our great state met to continue to improve, innovate, and implement this great profession of real estate. The conference is energizing as well as informative.
Having now completed my 18th state conference, I still show up and stay involved because there is always something to learn, the relationships from all over the state are essential, and it is a commitment to excellence that my clients deserve. Also, our state association is stellar in providing all of us with the … (5 comments)

national association of realtors: Dear Fellow Broker ~ Let's Remember COE Article 15 - 08/13/21 06:16 PM
I write this post with a heavy heart but also with a sense of duty, civic freedom, and righteous indignation. I feel the need to share this as things are simply getting out of hand. Recently, I am under heavy fire from a fellow broker in my town who sent a letter to a local media outlet claiming my doctorate is illegitimate because it is from a small religious seminary. I studied, wrote the papers, published my dissertation, … (18 comments)

national association of realtors: NAR ~ Commitment to Excellence Program - 01/16/20 03:03 PM
NAR ~ Commitment to Excellence Program
I'm sure many of you have seen the National Association of REALTORS® program C2EX. This stands for Commitment to Excellence for real estate agents and brokers. The program was launched just a few years ago to encourage continued excellence within the real estate industry.

The program is easy to access and has a level-up program for agents to follow. I found the activities to be engaging and thought-provoking. As the various levels are completed, you can then begin the next stage of learning.

The program is at your own pace and I found it easy to access anytime … (2 comments)
