purplebricks: What Happens If Your Buyer Offers on a Purplebricks Listing?

California will be the test case for this issue. Purplebricks, a British estate agent, is opening up shop in California in the next few weeks. If you aren't aware, they do things very differently. For one, they promote the idea of removing the agents from the negotiations and having the buyer submit offers directly to the seller. In England, there is no written offer, in fact, there is nothing at all in writing until weeks into the transaction. How will that work in a market where EVERYTHING has to be in writing? Will buyers have to fill out a buy/sell agreement without the advice or assistance (1 comments)
purplebricks: Buyers and Sellers Negotiating Directly - The Purplebricks Philosophy

With the pending Purplebricks invasion of the U.S. real estate market looming on the horizon, I want to know what my Activerain friends think about their stance on negotiations. What are your thoughts on the Purplebricks philosophy of having the buyers and sellers of their listings negotiate with each other directly, cutting out the agent involvement altogether? Is that going to open a Pandora's Box? Or does that make sense on some level? Will that approach work in California and the United States? Would that be a welcome change to methodology, or does that go against everything you stand for as an agent? Please comment with (0 comments)
