Are you wondering what to do tonight, the last year of 2011 in the Portland, Oregon area? Well, have I got an idea for you that is not only family friendly but is absolutely beautiful. Every year my family visits the Oregon Zoo to see the Zoo lights display.
The Oregon Zoo has Zoo lights every year starting the day after Christmas and then it goes through January 1st. Here is my families visit from this year and I hope you enjoy it enough to go see the Zoo Lights at the Oregon Zoo yourself and I promise there are … (6 comments)

oregon zoo: Feeling their power just feet from you - 09/18/11 06:37 PM

This last week I went to the zoo with my nieces and nephew and we all got to be close to one the most powerful cat in North America. You could see the grace and beauty in this beautiful cat within 3 feet, but behind the safety of the glass which was just fine with me, because I know if I was that close in the wild, it would be the last thing I ever saw.

oregon zoo: That bites! - 11/20/08 05:08 PM
We all miss the dog days of summer and long for the next one, but now you can find out how your dog got to be your dog. If you are in Portland, Oregon, then you can visit the World Forestry Center now through January 4th, 2009 and find out the story of dogs.

Top that off, with being only an hour from the ocean or skiing. You are even within driving distance of desert dunes for some fun on an ATV. Most people don't think of Oregon as a great vacation spot, or even a better place to live. But, … (5 comments)

oregon zoo: The Oregon Zoo – Another Reason to Visit Oregon - 03/14/07 09:54 AM
Here are our pictures from yesterday...It reminds me why it is fun to be an Oregonian. We also had a brand new exhibit open. The Black Bear Exhibit really does get you close to the black bears and shows you how big they really are.
Pete was my favorite bear. He really was a ham for the camera, but non of the pictures turned out. (What a shame)
Here are a few pictures from our trip anyway of the other favorite animals at the zoo.
During the summer, they have the Birds of Prey show and the birds fly right over the crowd. KIDS … (0 comments)
