the friendly home team: Will Beaverton, Oregon foreclosures just be a ripple in real estate history? - 04/17/11 05:53 PM

Will Beaverton, Oregon foreclosures just be a ripple in real estate history? The reason I ask this is because even though I was only ten at the time of the 1980 Beaverton, Oregon real estate crisis. The home market in Beaverton, was something that recovered and the market of the 1980s was soon forgotten by the mid 1990s.
Is there a possibility that though was seem to be horrible now will be forgotten again in 15-20 years and buying or selling a home in Beaverton will be just as easy as it was in 2006 again? Who knows, but my … (10 comments)

the friendly home team: The bridge to home owner ship is shorter than you think - 04/17/11 02:55 AM

I promise, the bridge to home ownership is shorter than you think. Many first time home buyers that I help buy their first home say at the end of the transaction “I should have done this years ago, but I guess I just was afraid and didn’t realize how easy it really was”

Yes as with any big purchase there is a few hurdles, credit, down payment and then finding the right home. But, from my experience these small hurdles can usually be taken care and buyers worries are soon forgotten. Many of the 1st time home buyers just … (9 comments)

the friendly home team: Buying a family home in Beaverton should leave you with a smile on your face! - 04/15/11 12:22 PM

Buying a family home in Beaverton should leave you with a smile on your face and that is what I want to do for every client that uses the Friendly home team’s services. We want that smile on you so tight that you may never be able to get rid of it. We figure that way, when someone asks you why you are smiling, you can tell them all about our services! You know what your mom told you “If you make that face too long it may just stick!”

the friendly home team: Tigard lake view properties - 04/14/11 06:44 PM

When you think Tigard, most don’t think Tigard lake view properties, but there are some. Summer Lake Park pictured above is perfect example and then there is another private lake surrounded by homes just north of Walnut Street near 124th. So, if you are in the market for a Tigard lake view property, but don’t want to pay millions like you would in Lake Oswego, check out Tigard a place you can call home.

the friendly home team: My goal is to have all my clients look this content! - 04/13/11 11:10 AM

Real estate is one of those businesses that they say some 90% of people don’t use the same Realtor the next time they go to buy or sell a home. How sad is that? I think part of the problem is agents don’t make a client feel happy after the sale. They are forgotten about and then they feel they were just a commission to the buyer or seller.

I think we need to make our clients feel like this, before, during and after the sale if we want to keep them as clients and increase our chances … (16 comments)

the friendly home team: Spring is finally here (At least this is what I consider the first real start of spring) - 04/08/11 07:19 PM

Though the calendar says spring was her, the weather certainly wasn’t letting us know that it was spring, (It was 38 at game time) but still those two things don’t mean spring to me. What means spring to me is to hear that first crack of that bat hitting the ball into outfield as my kids started little league this week.

It was nice as I got my camera back just hours before my son’s first game last night. Though I’m a Red Sox fan the only win I’ve gotten to see this year was my son, since he … (10 comments)

the friendly home team: Paycheck not what it used to be? House weighing heavy on your back? We can help! - 04/06/11 07:30 PM

Many people are being hit hard by this economy.  I promise you aren’t the only one and there are people who are here to help. Many people have taken a pay cut just to keep their jobs, but the problem is that many not leave enough at the end of the month to pay the mortgage.
You have now decided to sell rather than being foreclosed on, and not that you are too surprised, but your home isn’t worth what it was when you bought it. Now, what are you supposed to do? You don’t have the money to cover … (3 comments)

the friendly home team: What a deck! I’m so envious of these people! - 04/05/11 06:17 PM

I do have to say these guys know their decks having been on probably hundreds in their lives. But, they can’t get this home because they aren’t allowed to sign the loan documents. But, heck that doesn’t mean you can’t buy your own home with a beautiful deck that others can envy.
Call or email Todd Clark and the Friendly Home team today and let us help you find that perfect home with that amazing deck for your family.

the friendly home team: It maybe raining, but when it rains it pours. (Pours a great deal that is!) - 04/05/11 07:27 AM

In Beaverton over the past month it has rained and rained a lot! The fact is we had 30 days in a row of rain and that took a toll on real estate. HOW? Well, it seems buyers wanted to stay in and not look at homes. Were they afraid they were going to melt if they got wet? Who knows!

But, for the buyers who did venture out, they were able to find some great deals. WHY? The main reason is sellers were noticing less activity as well and because of that they were considering offers they wouldn’t … (13 comments)

the friendly home team: Is real estate for the birds? - 04/04/11 06:46 PM

In my humble opinion, I don’t think real estate is for the birds at all. I think everyone should have the chance to own a home and there is no better time than right now. We are seeing prices we haven’t seen in Portland since 2005, we are just waiting for these historically low interest rates to climb, so don’t wait.

Did you know that a ½ percent hike in interest rates would take more than a $10,000 price cut in home prices to equal the same house payments per month? Price isn’t everything, because what you are saving … (10 comments)

the friendly home team: Search all available homes in and around Beaverton - 03/31/11 07:41 AM

One think I love about Beaverton, Oregon and all of Washington County is that when you live here you can have a sense of pride. I've noticed a lot when people say, "Oh, you live in Portland?" The people who live in Washington County pipe right up and say "No, we live in Beaverton, just outside Portland" or Tigard, Hillsboro, it doesn't matter, we have a pride here and we don't want to be associated with another town even if is bigger, we are proud of where we live... Are you?

the friendly home team: Helping bridge the gap between renting and home ownership, one family at a time - 03/28/11 04:46 AM

Todd Clark and the Friendly Home team are here to help. Our goal right now is to help as many families go from renting to owning. With the historic low interest rates and prices that haven’t been seen in years, this certainly is the time to own.

So, call your brother, your sister, your parents, aunts and uncles, share the news that this is the time to own a home rather than rent. If you are presently renting, right now you could be paying less in a mortgage than you are for renting each month. (Amazing but true)
We are … (14 comments)

the friendly home team: Even with the real estate market spinning out of control, with the right agents, you can still be left with a smile on your face. - 03/23/11 07:30 PM

With all the doom and gloom in the real estate market you would think not a single house is selling anywhere, but that just isn’t the case. The fact is, we are seeing a record number of homes sold by my team, The Friendly Home Team at Knipe Realty in Washington County, Oregon.

Though many people feel the market is spinning out of control, just like this picture, my clients come out of the crowd and can be seen with smiles on their faces as they either sell a home through us or find that perfect home for their … (14 comments)

the friendly home team: One of my accidental creative ad ideas that got me the most calls and leads has been sold! - 03/20/11 01:56 PM

A few months back, I had a listing that I forgot spare batteries for my camera and since I knew this was a great listing in a great neighborhood, I had to get creative to make sure the listing had pictures. This is what I put on Craigslist and the MLS for the first 24 hours. They ended up staying for 5 days because of the response I got.
So, now I’m happy to say this home has been sold!!!

the friendly home team: The Oregon City Falls and the end of the Oregon Trail - 03/16/11 07:45 PM

Oregon City is one of the oldest cities in Oregon and many consider it to be the end of the Oregon trail, though many did end their journey here, there are still many miles to the Pacific Ocean. I do have to say with the beauty of the falls and the Oregon City area, I think I would have probably stopped here to have the very tough journey they all took to get here.

the friendly home team: That WOW moment when you know your buyers have found the right home! - 03/15/11 07:33 AM

There is nothing more exciting than seeing a wife’s eyes light up when she walks in to a home that has that WOW factor. At this point you watch the husband be a little more reserved as he tries to figure out what is wrong with this house that seems perfect, great price, low taxes and everything they want.

Can’t blame them, we have all heard it “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is”. But, in this business there is from time to time that truly WOW moment in time when all the stars align … (21 comments)

the friendly home team: Buy with the right agent and you can sleep at night knowing you made the right decision - 02/20/11 04:40 PM

One of the things I love about real estate is the friends I make during a real estate transaction. Often during a transaction you can spend more time with your clients than their own family and friends. That is how I get to know my clients and that is often why we become such good friends.

So, if you want to sleep with a smile on your face at night knowing you hired a friend, call the Friendly Home team and together we will help your family home.

the friendly home team: Thornbrook Park in Beaverton, Oregon - 01/25/11 05:44 PM

Now, I have to say, we had high hopes when we stopped by this park because it is in a neighborhood of more expensive homes. But, it was nothing more than a strip of land that clearly the builder didn’t want and donated to the city, so the city called it a park and put a quarter mile walking path on it. The best thing I can say about this park is that it gives the kids coming home from school a quicker path through the neighborhood. (Length? Maybe 1/3 of a mile, tops)
