February 11 is both National Shut-In Visitation Day and National Make a Friend Day. Why not combine both to make a new friend while visiting a person who is currently shut-in?
A shut-in is a person who, due to physical, mental and/or emotional reasons, is not able to leave his or her home.  These conditions can cause a person to feel lonely, isolated, sad and cut off from the rest of the world.  
Even a brief in-person visit can brighten that person's day. Use #Shut-InVisitationDay to post on social media.
