For the last year or so, Mary and I have been struggling with a persistent and troubling problem. We were experiencing a steady decline in our website traffic, and a consequent drop in leads showing up from our blogging.
For the entire time we have been on AR, we have been following a strategy of blogging long-tail topics and using back-links from AR to boost the visibility of our related IDX search pages. It worked like a charm - we dominated page 1 results for dozens of long-tail searches and got a lot of business (78 comments)

Over the last couple of months, we've all seen a lot of positive changes at ActiveRain. I recently discovered a new one that's been going on for a little while without fanfare, but is very helpful to us.
One evening last week, as I logged in to Twitter for my nightly dose of laughs*, I was surprised to see this notification:

Apparently, Bob Stewart at ActiveRain has been spending a bit of time lately going back through the blog roll, looking for posts that got a lot of interaction or dealt (43 comments)

When the folks who are helping us with our Internet presence told me I needed to start blogging, it wasn't good news. "Do I absolutely have to do that?", I asked. "No, but if you don't, you're probably going to be wasting the money you're spending on us.", they said. "Oh, okay, if I really, really, have to." I was definitely not excited about this. They suggested a half-dozen different ways I could start, and I came to AR first because the weird name made me curious. It looked like an interesting place, and there was that $1/month start-up offer, so I (9 comments)
