lovemarks: Connecting the dots

Years ago I sent an email to Kevin Roberts, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, and author of LoveMarks. The content was an expression of my admiration for his work. along with a request to use some of his ideas and the LoveMarks term in an article I was writing. As an editor and writer, I often sent these types of requests, as a courtesy, as well as a legal obligation. A standard reply email in affirmation or denial is often received and stored. A LoveMark is a Product Service or Entity, that inspires Loyalty Beyond Reason. Written by Kevin Roberts, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, LoveMarks - The Future Beyond Brands- took the Branding frenzy and lit it on fire. Elevate your brand, Suddenly Branding was no longer the target (unless, of course you are Target - and they, naturally became a LoveMark!) as individuals, companies and corporations sought the LoveMark status. Companies who leapt onto this blazing comet include Papers, Volkswagon, Tide, Nescafe', Starbucks. You know them. When you see their logo a warm and fuzzy feeling spreads throughout your body.
