You might guess I especially loved the Western lifestyle murals and decorations in Rose’s. Breakfast today was at Mimi's Cafe off of 200 in Ocala, and it filled me up for the day. I ordered the Monterey Omelet, which came with home fried potatoes, fresh juice and a muffin. There was no room for the muffin, but the Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and avocado in and on the omelet would have made my Mama proud. Mimi's has breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, and serves liquor. Enjoyed another great cheeseburger at Horse & Hounds Restaurant (off of Hwy 27) the other day, and took the long way out so I could drive through more horse country in Ocala. You will notice late September is not much different than late August, except (maybe) for the round bales of hay, and bigger bellies on many of the mares. The video of my drive to Horse & Hounds for lunch (below) may induce hunger (and they go well with horses). The Saddle Rack Cafe in Ocala, in the Anthony area, is always busy when I go by early in the morning so I haven't stopped to eat there yet. However, having breakfast there is on my list of things to do this week. It appears to be one of those secret, popular local restaurants (with no internet). Not sure what happens on Friday night, but I'll have to check on that while I'm having breakfast. I detoured to Ocala’s Crossroads Country Kitchen again after taking more Ocala horse farm photos, as I wanted a delicious breakfast to start the day. Yum, I wasn't disappointed. Stopped for lunch at Crossroads Country Kitchen in Ocala Saturday after taking more Ocala horse farm photos on one of the rainiest mornings of this summer. Many local horse people frequent Crossroads, and I love all the fun things they have hung all over the walls (see video). I also learned Crossroads Country Kitchen serves breakfast all day until 4:00 p.m. Love that! My choice for lunch was a Bar-B-Que burger (comes with cheese, caramelized onions, and bar-b-q sauce). It was cooked as requested, and ‘oh my’ delicious. There’s something about bar-b-que sauce and caramelized onions on a good hamburger. … (2 comments)
