The county has put in a carousel, wagon rides and as always there are animals everywhere. Baby goats and pigs were my favorites this time.

Farmers plow first, then use a disc to break up the large clods of earth left by the plow. A harrow or rake-like pull behind is then used to smooth the ground for planting.
The color, texture, and structure of this beauty makes almost every part of it interesting to photograph. But in case you don't like it, here's a flower.

Petting Farm in Fairfax County VA...Kidwell Farm at Frying Pan Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Come visit for an hour and re-connect with your rural roots or just relax with the animals. Bring your kids or just yourself. Our youngest kid is 20, but we still visit the farm regularly...it's free and fun. No actual off camera children were spoken to "firmly"in the making of this video. Lie on the slope above the lake and watch the lights reflecting in the water. Eat. We took our then 2 year old daughter to Lake Fairfax fireworks for the first time 20 years ago. She screamed the whole time once they started.
We ended up in the car for the remainder, trying to comfort her.
