jobless recovery: Bankruptcies Highest Since 2000

Orange County had 1314 bankruptcies in the month of February up 35 percent from last year it is the highest since the year 2000. Even though there are many signs of a recovery the housing market is slow to come around. These people who have filed bankruptcy maybe the tip of the iceburg. If we do not find jobs for people they cannot participate in the recovery. They canot afford to purchas goods or services. They cannot take advantage of low prices nor can they get a loan. What is a Jobless Recovery??? It is where we claim that he recession is over and that everything is back to normal. Manufacturing, housing and retail sectors are back to business and we are fine. Are you kidding!!! If I am out of work there is no recovery, being jobless is a very serious situation. Jobs give us the money to spend to purchase the things that are made. Houses, cars, groceries, goods, stocks, anything that makes this economy work. How else could we have a recovery? I guess if we were exporting goods to other countries and they had the … (6 comments)
