On Saturday October 8, 2016, Placentia will be holding their 52nd Annual Heritage Festival and Parade. This will be taking place at Tri City Park, Placentia. The theme this year is "Pride of Placentia". So many great things go on here. At 6:30 am The Festival starts off with pancake breakfast provided by the Rotary Club. The cost for breakfast is $5 dollars and children under 5 are free. The Calidore String Quartet will perform at the Bradford House, 136 Palm Circle, Placentia, at 3 p.m. Sunday Feb.23. The free concert is the second of the four-concert 2014 season at the 112-year-old Victorian mansion. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Their program will be Beethoven’s String Quartet in F Major, Op.18#1; Golijov’s “Tenebrae;” and Schubert’s String Quartet in D minor, “Death and the Maiden.” The quartet, formed at Colburn Conservatory of Music in 2010, is composed of violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry and cellist Estelle Choi. The Bradford House in The City of Placentia has been giving tours to elementary school chidren for years. The tours are a fun way for the children to see what it was like to live in the City of Placentia in the "Orange Grove Days". Fundraisers like these help keep the tours free.
