cape may: The Lobster House - The Tradition Continues in Cape May - 04/03/07 12:29 PM
The Lobster House is located at Fisherman's Wharf, but it is really in Lower Township only a few hundred yards from Cape May.  When you come to the end of the Garden State Parkway, follow Route 109 over the Cape May Bridge and you will see this sign at the bottom where you turn left.

The Lobster House is famous for it's restaurant, but that is merely an anchor for a large complex of several very successful businesses.  Included are:
The Lobster House Coffee Shop
The Fish Market
The Take Out Market
The Schooner - in season
The Raw Bar - in season
The Fishing Fleet
The Lobster … (0 comments)

cape may: Cape May - Home to the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center - 03/23/07 01:03 PM
Cape May is proud to be the home of the U.S.C.G. training center.   It is located right in the middle of the island side of the Cape May Harbor.   This center is where the U.S.C.G. send their recruits for basic training.  There is also specialized training there for enlisted personnel.
The Coast Guard has long been a large part of the Cape May economy.  Not only do the enlisted personnel eat, shop and occasionally purchase real estate, their extended families also do the same.
The Coast Guard serves this area well, as they provide many services and community functions.  They are not to be taken … (0 comments)

cape may: Cape May - A World Class Resort - 03/11/07 10:09 AM
Cape May is a truly unique place.  There is no place like it,....anywhere!
Cape May is a place I called home for 10 years, from the mid 70's to the mid 80's.  It has evolved from that time as a quaint seaside town to currently being a world class resort, although not in the traditional sense.
Cape May is famous for it's history and it's Victorian Architecture.   Cape May has numerous Bed and Breakfast Houses, but it also has some oceanfront hotels.  It is well known as a hotbed for exceptional restaurants, exhibiting many international influences.
The beaches are large and clean … (0 comments)

cape may: North Cape May - A Local's View - 03/11/07 09:42 AM
North Cape May is a great place to live.  I can attest to that, as I've called it home for the last 10 years.  I'm raising my family here.  I work here.  I expect to be here for a long time!
Don't confuse my town with Cape May, which is much more well known.  Although I used to live in Cape May for 10 years and absolutely love both areas, they are extremely different.  Cape May has the bigger name and the smaller year round population.  It is on an island and has beaches with beach tags.  It's primary industry is tourism, and the summertime … (0 comments)

cape may: Quarter Share Interval Ownership - 03/08/07 10:54 AM
It's rumored that a large oceanfront project in Cape May will be offering Quarter Share ownership options when they begin outsales for their upcoming project.
This is essentially an expanded version of the typical Timeshare Interval Ownership already being offered in many areas.  Apparently, Quarter Shares are new to this area, but are somewhat common in other areas of the country.  Those who purchase these properties will have a deeded interest in their unit for 13  weeks of the year. These weeks may not necessarily be consecutive.
These owners may occupy their units for 2 weeks per year and still have the unit … (0 comments)

cape may: The FINAL FRONTIER? - 03/07/07 12:43 PM
It seems that every geographic area has it's turn to lead the way up regarding property values.
I believe the next hot spot in Cape May County includes the bayside communities of North Cape May, Villas and Del Haven.
Although the lot sizes are generally small, these communities lie in close proximity to the Delaware Bay.  There are alot of primary residences and some second homes in what is the most populated township in Cape May County, Lower Township (except Del Haven which borders to the north in Middle Township).
We are beginning to see some tear downs here and it … (3 comments)
