If there is one thing I have always noticed everytime I drive through Dousman Wisconsin it is all the friendly people that wave back at you and smile. One also notices all the bike trails, walk ways, crane fields, and wide open spaces, farm fields, and conservancy. Dousman Wisconsin is unique in that it really pretty much remains unspoiled and truly maintains that small town living atmosphere. Often when Tom Braatz and his sidekick Lars travel they get hungry. Yes, it is true that we eat most of our meals in restaurants, and in Dousman Wisconsin there is a magnificent restaurant named "The Sunny Side Up" that always delivers the best in Mexican food, American food, and wonderful fish fries. Margarito and his wife Liz serve up some of the best Huevos Rancheros for anyone to start their day out on.

It does not take long when you come into the Village of Dousman to realize that everyone is in cinc in everyone else. This is a community where people participate, and it also is a community that has the luxury of being surrounded by majestic fields of Sand Hill cranes, birds, wild life, and more.
It is truly amazing to watch such a beautiful bird gather with others, nest, and enjoy the fields, waterways, and conservancy they way they do. I hope that picture never leaves my head in my lifetime. You can walk down the Drumlin trail which reaches … (14 comments)
