Home prices continue to drop, in some places far more than others. Kentucky fares worse than Tennessee, Indiana but better than Ohio.

February wasn't any better than January. Additional closings could come trickling in but Louisville isn't off to the great start we were hoping for in 2011.
The waiting game has become quite dull. Given the real estate activity of that past three years many in this market have been looking for the signs of a recovery.
Foreclosures and overall economic uncertainly have been more than enough to counter-balance incredible interest rates, high inventory and lower home prices. We'll just have to see if that balancing act continues into the Spring.

January was another very difficult month for homeowners in Louisville. The median home price for Jefferson County took a major dive from $140,000 in December to $123,500 in January. This change was enough to tilt the 1-year trend line downward. Keep in mind, what is bad for current homeowners is good for home buyers who’ll have the opportunity to purchase while the market is lower.
Home sales weren’t nearly as negative but still couldn’t pass last year’s 490, coming up short with just 456 homes sold.
