This landmark is located at Seacliff Beach in Aptos CA.  The ship was docked for about ten years then was purchased byt the Seachliff Amusement Co. of Nevada.  The ship was towed to Seacliff State Beach where it was grounded in the bay and a long pier was built.  In its' hay day there was an arcade, dining room, dance hall and swimming pool. The Seacliff Amusement Company went out of business just a couple years later during the Great Depression. Then, in winter, a storm cracked the ship. An associate of mine called the media "Chicken Little" today.  I had to laugh at the fact that he was so right on.  I am tired of hearing the bad news and am on a mission to share the positive.  Bad news gets the attention and the media controls so much with the "sky is falling" mentality.  Honestly with interest rates at their lowest in 40 years, and home prices at their most affordable in years NOW is the time for all of us as REALTORs and agents to educate homebuyers to the benefits of buying a home … (2 comments)
