The number of houses for sale in Riverside California I've been keeping track of the inventory of houses for sale in Riverside CA for quite a while. An important number to watch, for both buyers and sellers, is how many houses are on the market. As you can see from the chart below, the number of active listings has gone down dramatically since the end of 2008. But it has been holding fairly steady for almost a year.

As of May 29, 2010 there are 1098 active listings of houses and condos for sale on the multiple listing service in Riverside California. 462 of those are short sales (42% of the total). Short sales continue to be a significant portion of the real estate market and there are fewer bank-owned houses (or REO’s) for sale.
