Continuing the blog (see Part 2 here), in part 3 lets look at the electrical items. Starting with aluminum wiring. 
Often the biggest risk with aluminum wiring is the insurance company! Yes, the insurance companies do not understand the risk and any risk they can not quantify is too big.
I began my career in the electrical trade, and most of the wiring at the time in residential work was aluminum, I installed a lot of aluminum wire in my career.  Aluminum wiring was introduced originally to manage the high cost of copper, which by the way is again getting out of hand.

While most Realtors are familiar with Home Inspections, it is always good to communicate. 
We are essentially all trying to reach the same goal, and do it in a way that has the least amount of resistance.  You, I and the client all want the best Home Inspection completed as quickly as possible, and yet also as through and comprehensive as possible.
First and foremost, the Realtor and Home Inspector should really sit down and chat before their first inspection if at all possible.  It is beneficial if you understand our needs and we understand yours, you might say well isn't that obvious.  … (3 comments)
