Stone Oak-The Center Piece of Far North San Antonio Stone Oak is what I would call the center piece of far north San Antonio. It's not a single subdivision but a pretty well disbursed area that in some locales could be an incorporated city due to the size of the population and business tax base. Too late for that though, it's part of San Antonio and I cannot imagine the need or desire for Stone Oak to split with San Antonio.

Stone Oak in San Antonio really resembles that two word description. Stone Oak is in the northern section of San Antonio. Under about a half inch of top soil you'll find several feet, or maybe its miles, of rock. This can help make for a really solid foundation for buildings but it is tough to get any but the hardiest of plant life to survive without adding some good top soil, fertilizer, and a good supply of water.
