I had never heard of this ACTIVE RAIN until January 15, 2009. It was because of my attendance at a Massachusetts Technology Continuing Education course, titled "Tools of the Trade" and "Communcation Web2.0" taught by Tech guru, Amy Chorew, that I heard the message loud and clear, "You must become a member of the ACTIVE RAIN community if you want to be in the social networking media for real estate professionals. As soon as I returned to my office I checked out the website and decided to join in a few days, I signed up on January 16, 2009. My first blog was posted on 1-30-09 I needed time to read different posts and get a feel for the climate and mood of the community. I found that I was able to network with the best and share tips, ideas, common likes and dislikes, pets, humor, the groups go on and on. I signed up for several groups that I felt would give me posts to comment on. I found that points played a determining factor on how I wanted to proceed. I went to my state of RI and found I was on page 16 and if I kept blogging and commenting I could progressively move up in pages to eventually page one. I am now on Page 1 -#10 and on to rise to the top of the AR bloggers. In only 6 weeks I have amassed 5200 points with 11 blogs and many comments. I have become an Active Rain believer. My goal is to earn my photo face image for my comments once I reached the first milestone of 10,000 points. My short term goal is to achieve this before the end of this month.. I love every moment I return to the community to see fellow subscribers and members I have subscribed to follow. Now As I build these relationships I will be so excited when a referral becomes a closed transaction."
