The Lodge at Logan Creek: Where fantasy and reality meet in the High Sierra.

Imagine what you would want in a mountain lodge home. Well, it would have to have lots of wood inside, tall ceilings, fireplaces of course... it would have to feel like the old west, yet have all of the necessary modern conveniences.

Seclusion would be good. A running creek next to the house would be great, particularly if one could hear it in bed, and a high mountain forest around it would ideal. If one could get to the forest from the backyard, and there was miles and miles of it... well, that would mean a few outbuildings would be nice, and if one could get up in that mountain forest on a horse, well that would be just about perfect.

A big, spacious Master with towering ceilings would be really nice to have too, and especially if it had it’s own fireplace that one could see from bed... while listening to the running creek outside. A sitting area for private contemplation and reading in the Master would be a really nice thing to have, and so would both a jetted tub and a steam shower in the Master bath be too.

A game area would be good for the children... or adults being children, a private, upstairs sitting room, and an office of course would all be good things to have as well. One would also want to have lots of extra bedrooms for the family, or guests... if they don’t stay too long, and lots of storage, and a big garage, and if one really thinks about it, a grand entrace would be good... with a nice little natural rock waterfall next to it, and a big, impressive chandellier over the staircase, that wouldn’t be too much to ask, would it?

Because we’re imagining a Mountain home, it has to have trees all around, big ones... mountain pines evergreen. Because it’s the high Sierra Mountains over Lake Tahoe, a view of the lake would be good, and certainly from the Master, but not at the expense of all the surrounding forest has to offer, that’s more important in this fantasy.

And being in Lake Tahoe, where the old Bonanza was shot, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of imagination that one might come to this piece of personal heaven and get lost from time to time in thought that here we are, relaxed and serene from all that we left behind for now, the pleased lord and gentle master of our own personal Ponderosa.

But this is not whimsy. It’s very real, and all of one’s imaginations and wishes above are true and fulfilled. Welcome to the Lodge at Logan Creek, where fantasy and reality meet in the High Sierra over Lake Tahoe.
