By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Pearland - Maggie McFarland

Pearland Texas and surrounding areas are taking precautions for the swine flu.  Below you will find many resources.  Two of the most important things I have learned is we all need to wash our hands more and for a longer period of time.  At this time if you think you could have the Swine Flu please don't expose other people if at all possible. Get to the doctor and get tested.  If treated early enough Tamiflu CAN work! Stay informed through Stay updated and informed through The Center For Diseases Control and Prevention at http://www.cdc.gov. Pearland ISD website have been making updates requlary http://www.pearlandisd.org

Pearland here are some things that you can do now to help avoid becoming sick with the swine flu.

* Avoid close contact - Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.

* Stay home when you are sick - Stay home from work, school and errands when you are sick. You will help prevent others from catching your illness.

* Cover your mouth and nose - Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.

* Clean your hands - Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs.

* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth - Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.

* Practice other good health habits - Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious foods.
