My 2cents on REBarcamp

 

Well I recently had the honor to actually attend a REBarcamp event here locally in Virginia Beach. Thank you so much to Tina Meritt and the rest of the volunteers that has helped make this happen.

I have to admit I was a bit jealous witnessing all the Tweets, Blogs and buzz around the other REBarcamps across the country and I never would of thought of a major event like this will show up in little ole podunk Virginia Beach :-)

We really had some great support for Sponsorships, Volunteers and attendees to make this amazing event a huge success!!

I was honored to meet some of the Real Estate rockstars out there like Ben Martin, Bill Lubin, the Zebra, Brad Carroll and many others.  It really is a great event to hang out with all the people you normally chat with online on Twitter, Facebook or even here on Activerain.

Well I put together a small tribute video on here and I hope you get a taste on what we experienced down here, looking forward to see everyone in the future!!

Thanks for bringing this for us to view as we get ready for our very first REBCRDU!!!  Leesa - I can't wait to get to meet you IN PERSON!  Roy I watched the live feed that Dakno did from Raleigh.  It was awesome.  AND the comments about AR were very very impressive.  Eleanor - do you think we could entice anyone from the Rain to come to Raleigh?!?

Hey!  I think having an AR get together as part of one of the Socials is a GREAT idea!  You can get more info on organizing one at http://www.rebarcamp.com - or you can just kinda follow along at #rebcrdu  We decided to use the call letters from our airport - hopefully that makes sense.  We are having our first meeting 7/28 and we hope to have the RE BARCAMP meeting on November 6th!  That's a Friday - and for folks who are traveling here we hope that works!  I am definately keeping a working "journal" and I'll be glad to share with anyone else who wants to have one!

RE:  Activerain... I was kinda disappointed. They said "You Should Be On Activerain" but there was not a "TOPIC" on AR.  I thought that would be good... but maybe folks do better one on one with that topic?  Don't know!

I am looking forward to attending and particpating in another RE BarCamp sometime soon. Going to Virginia Beach was a hike but worth it... some real talent. For many, they may want to read my BarCamp follow-up post too to get up to speed before they walk in the door and get steam-rolled with the input.
