I love the big rounded fenders on the older cars, as well as all of the shiny chrome. Nice pics, Alexsandra!
I love the older cars too Alexsandra. My favorite is the 1960 Rambler American.
Alexsandra - I always wanted an old car like that. Do you know what year it is. I hope they are not trading it in on the cash for clunkers deal.
John - I love the chrome, and the weight of it!
Jayne - I don't know the 60 Rambler America -- I'll have to look it up>
Jenny -- I agree - it is a beauty!
Duane - which Johnny Depp film?
Patricia - definite fun! Wouldn't you love to take a ride in it??
Robert -- I don't know what year -- I am guessing early 1940's -- but I really don't know!
Bob & Caroline -- yes, a very special car. And I think who ever owns it is very fortunate!
Alexsandra, I really do wish they would go back to the old chrome fenders! My back fender looks just awful - I use the "Braille method" to park.
Alexsandra - Definitely a vintage automobile. The oldest car I ever owned was a '53 Dodge stick shift with no power steering that my Grandfather gave to me. You needed arms like the Guvernator to drive it :-)
Pat -- I used to call that the 'bump and nudge' method of parking! :-) Plus, I am sure those chrome fenders made the cars way safer!
John - oh I remember those cars! Parallel parking was not an easy task!
This reminds me of old family pictures.......although this seems to be a newer model than what I am remembering in those old photos. I wish someone who knows cars would tell us what year it is.
Ann - I wish I knew the actual year also. I've some old family photos with old cars - and I wish I knew what year they wre too.
My husband and I had an old 1938 Crystler Royal, cream color, mohair lining, gangster doors, leather seats. It was fun to have back in the '70's. We found it in a field in South Dakota and got it running and drove it out to California and sold it for a nice bit... indeed, they don't make 'em like they used to.
Margaret -- what a fun trip that must have been! Gangster doors -- that is fabulous, and cream color to boot. Would love to see a photo if you kept one! That would be a treat too.
