Military Intelligence an Oxymoron

I had an interesting conversation with an individual at my favorite cigar shop.  His name is David and he is a professional magician.  He just returned from a magician seminar in Beijing China of all places.  He has performed all over the world and had some interesting stories to tell.

David had spent several years in the Navy and has a true love for America and support of our members of the armed services.  When David left the Navy he had reached the level of E6.  He decided he would like to continue to serve his country and join the reserves.  Because of his age he was required to take a physical training course which he passed.  He was then told he would be accepted; however he would be reduced in rank two grades.  That is right from E6 to E4.

David was not very happy to hear this information so decided against becoming a member of the reserves.

Dear Navy, I think you messed up.

Richard, another fine example of the rules overriding common sense, in the "old days" a man was judged on his merits, not on a scale set down by a panel somewhere.
