Developers have broken ground on two separate proposed subdivisions in Amarillo. Construction to extend Coulter northward is also currently underway. A to Y will pay $444,514 of the extension cost, with the city picking up the remaining $206,093, according to a pact approved by the Amarillo City Commission in April 2009. Announced in August 2007, Westlake missed its early timeline predictions because of the economic slide, said Jeff Yates, A to Y president. RedStone Panhandle Land Investments and the City of Amarillo are near completion of a contract for installation of almost $1.2 million in sewer infrastructure necessary for RedStone. The city's portion would be a percentage of the cost, capped at $616,000, with Panhandle Land Investments picking up the remainder. [Amarillo Globe-News] |
