Home Staging Scrapbook- Share Pics of your First Job!

By
Home Stager with Hart & Associates Staging and Design

This weekend I was going through some photos of past home staging jobs and had a great time remembering some of the wonderful (and sometimes strange) things we had seen over the past few years. I thought it would be fun to share our first staging jobs. Below are mine:

The room I staged in my first staging class. Not bad for 45 minutes and using what you have. Notice the valance I made from a runner!

The first home I staged on my own- it was a woman I had never met before and she let me do it for free to use for marketing. I ran into her last weekend in a lighting store and she remembered me! She said the room is still the same!

The first vacant home I staged. It sold within 2 weeks! I still have the striped urn- it cost me a fortune!

Kate: I don't think I took any photos of my first 4 or 5 staging jobs. I was so excited, I forgot! That was before I discovered Active Rain, blogging or ever dreamed of having a web site. Here is a photo from the first vacant staging job I did using rental furniture. This was about 4 years ago.Living room after staging by Moving Mountains Deisgn

Here's the first occupied home we staged. We did it free for some friends who were moving, to build our portfolio. The camera we used for the befores was a little one whose battery was getting tired, so the before of the living room was too blurry to use, so the only picture we have of this room is a corner. You can see it in the right of the after shot.

This is our first vacant staging. It was a tiny (960 sq ft) home - really a perfect first vacant.

Fun, fun, fun!  Here's my 1st Owner Occupied.  He told us before we started that he was giving all his old furniture to his gardener. SO we brought in rental furniture even though he was still living there.

Hey all thanks for sharing!

Laurie, it looks really great. You must have been exhausted from moving all the furntiure. The vacant is really warm and inviting.

Kathy, I love that butcher block cart! I needed one last week.

Connie- those rooms look great!

Michele- this is gorgeous! I am so impressed that you did a Parade of Homes for one of your first jobs. I would have been terrified!

Kate...Remember this from the ASP class??? This was the space I was heading up... Not bad for having ZERO materials to work with! ...This was Soooo much fun!

We used throw rugs as valances and stole cushions from the couch!!!
