PALIN CLOSES GAP ON OBAMA

By
Real Estate Agent with Orlando Area Real Estate Services

The LA Times is worried! Don't lose any sleep over that, but know it to be true! They've taken a look at the numbers and they don't like what they are seeing. Sarah Palin has silently closed the gap on the President in an imaginary 2012 election. Some polls even have her ahead!

But, this is the LA Times and so obviously it couldn't resist the urge to unleash the attack dogs again. Read this! "Not that it matters politically because obviously she's a female Republican dunce and he's obviously a male Democratic genius".

Now I have to remind you that I was a journalist in the UK. These days I get paid for my opinion and you read my opinion here, but back in the good old newspaper days, NO POLITICIAN knew my politics. The first lesson in the first class in journalism school used to be the Fox News mantra - "fair and balanced". I have no idea what they are teaching in our universities these days that would allow a comment like the one I just reprinted from the LA Times to appear in print. If one of my reporters had done that when I was editing three newspapers, I would have fired them.

Anyway - sidebar over and back to the main story here.

And the main story for me is quite simple. The left simply doesn't understand Sarah Palin or the way she resonates with the people. They have done everything they can think of to destroy this woman and indeed her family, and yet here we are on a nationwide book tour with people standing in line for more than 24 hours just to get 30 seconds with her while she signs the book.

How can this be? The leftist elite tells us she's an idiot. They make fun of her. They try oh so hard to prove she has a bad marriage. That she's a bad mom; that she was a terrible Governor; that she broke the law and on and on and on and on. And yet, the people love her. The left has NO RESPECT for the people, because of course the people are incredibly dumb. The leftist elite knows best what's good for you. You can't possibly know better than them. So how can the dumb American people simply not get it after everything the left has done to take Palin down?

It's real simple - SHE'S ONE OF US!

Not only that, but she communicates with us on an equal footing. She NEVER talks down to us. NEVER assumes she knows better than us. And NEVER tries to find a way around the CONSTITUTION. Wake up lefties! We're coming to take our country back. It starts in less than a year. Tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...

I got side tracked again. The LA Times! They even reported today that the President's numbers are down to 48% while Palin's are up to 47%. It's also early enough in his Presidency for the Times to report the following without having an effect on his chances in 2012. "Although presidential incumbency has hardly kept Obama chained to the Oval Office, he and Joe Biden now own the U.S. economy, where their much-vaunted $787 billion economic stimulus package has so far stimulated unemployment to grow from 8% to more than 10%."

Amazing!

Having said that, the Times is also clearly concerned about the 2010 elections and shot across the President's bow today in an extremely direct way. "Historically, the White House party loses about 17 House seats in a normal midterm election cycle. That wouldn't change control of the House.

George W. Bush's GOP actually gained seats in 2002. Democrat Bill Clinton's first midterm election was a political Katrina, producing the Contract with America and so-called Republican revolution that saw the GOP take control of both houses of Congress after years of minority status.

Much of that turnaround was attributed to Clinton having run in 1992 as a centrist and then immediately pushed a more liberal agenda involving something called healthcare reform.
But that couldn't possibly happen again because of the popularity of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi whose current favorable poll ratings are -- let's see here -- OMG, only about half of Palin's."

I repeat.....

Wake up lefties! We're coming to take our country back. It starts in less than a year. Tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...

Dedra - it is wonderful to hear. You are part of something important that is going on here. I don't think you have to like Sarah to be inspired by her. What she has done is stand at the front of the "politics as usual" line and say ENOUGH!!!! This is NOT who we are. We ARE the country of small Government. If only the people would pay more attention to the Founders, then what Governments of all political persuasions have so far gotten away with would and could never have happened. America is waking up. DC Corruption has at last achieved something worthwhile. The Sleeping Giant is stirring.

You have it 100% right.  The reason why so many people love Sarah Palin is because she is one of us.  Came from humble roots, not a Washington insider, and not Harvard/Yale educated.  Americans are tired of the elitists telling us they know what is best for the masses.

As for the journalists, the reason they don't understand Palin is the same reason they don't understand why nobody is reading their newspapers, why magazine subscriptions are way down, and why nobody watches the network news.  People are tired of the well documented bias and lies that the "traditional" news outlets spew.  Generation X and Y especially are sick of it.  They don't even get their news from these so-called journalists.  They get their news from the internet.

I bought the book in advance.  A vote with my wallet.  I'm the kind of cheap guy that normally gets a book from the library.  The "smart" Ivy league class has been running this country into the dirt for 20 years (I do not like to bash the Bush's as the are decent people and GWB kept the country safe - but let's face it they are not Ronald Reagan.) and they call her dumb.  She as dumb and back woods as Abe Lincoln.  She is American and American in a way the left will not understand.

But we need more than one person.  We have to roll back 50 years of growing liberal oppression and loss of freedom.

I will vote for her and support her.  But it is more than just a vote, we need to stand behind her no matter what kind of smears they hit her with.

Simon - Frankly, I kind of like Sarah Palin.  I'm sure I've made mention of that before.   I don't agree with her on many issues, but that is to be expected with any difference in idealogy, politics, or personal opinion on how the world is to be shaped before one gathers worms as cuddle buddies.

What I do find somewhat hysterical is that FOX "News" sells the mantra that is eaten up by their idealogues as if they are "Fair And Balanced".  I'll believe that when someone convinces me that MSNBC gives props to the conservative parts of the equation when deserved.  Let's face it; there is a not so subtle war going on between conservatives and liberals.  The victims are the rest of us who probably don't buy into either of the extreme viewpoints.

For the life of my mother, I can't figure out how "Liberal" is the wrong way or a bad term to use.  I'll say the same thing about "Conservative" thought if I thought it would really matter.  Both sides have been proven to be very dangerous, at times.

"Wake up lefties! We're coming to take our country back. It starts in less than a year. Tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock..."

Wonderful.  Finally, the Native Americans are coming to kick our freaking ass!  There is a thing lefties should learn from righties and vice versa; the very best hitters learn and practice and hit from both sides... I cite Mickey Mantle (drunk or sober).

Simon - I agree, the country needs a huge change... not the kind of change we ended up with.  I do not believe Sarah Palin is the answer though.  I know this isn't going to be popular with a lot of people, but for the sake of the Republican party, I hope a better alternative is found.

Best wishes the the capital city of Alaska.

I like many things about Sarah Palin. I would never vote for her. Not many folks would. I am flabbergasted to read all the comments about how everyone is sick of having smart leaders who are ivy league graduates. You should hope that our leaders are the most intelligent people in the world. Unfortunately for you, the most intelligent people in the world attend ivy league centers of learning.

I like Sarah Palins Libertarian leanings, but would rather have a real Libertarian. I like her ability to be herself, but would rather have that better seasoned. I am hoping the Republicans run Sarah Palin, the Dems run Obama and enough people become disillusioned that a third party candidate becomes a viable option.

Thanks for all the comments people - you see the thing is that our Government has been corrupt for SO LONG (which means BOTH main parties have been deeply involved) that the American people have finally been woken by the most extreme left wing President probably in the nation's history. SO along comes Sarah Palin - probably not the most qualified, but look who we elected? Would I vote for her? it would depend on the alternatives. I would like a better qualified person who is also "one of us". I know they are out there somewhere!!

Israel - I met Bob Barr a couple of weeks ago. Spent a couple of hours with him actually, but you see he is not what we want either. I ended up with the feeling that he simply wanted "Presidential Candidate" on his resume.
