Black Friday has been branded as the day to stand in line to get save a couple bucks.  Personally, there is nothing I'd be less interested in doing today armed with Thanksgiving abundance.  Rooted in gratitude, today is the best day to really look closely at where we are in all areas of our lives and ask ourselves, "where do I want to go from here?"

Just like the traditions we have on Thanksgiving my Black Friday tradition is to find a quiet inspiring place to plan and I know a lot of my friends are doing the same today.  For me I'm sitting at what San Diegans know as Swami's, an incredible garden maintained by monks with koi the size of German Sheppards high on a hill overlooking the ocean.

The goals that you set today will be inspired by the gratitude you feel,  which is coming from a much more authentic place than goals set from a place of fear and lack.

A few minutes spent on inner work today has the power to change the world if you let it.  For me, selling a few more homes is just not helping enough.  In order to play the intend to, will require writing and speaking to reach a larger audience and this vision comes completely from a place of service.  Look in the faces of people today; Americans are tired.  There are millions that need help.  They are slowly going bankrupt and, as Realtors, we can help counsel and help them bounce back.  Its our job to educate ourselves and position as the experts we are.

If you entered the Real Estate Industry because you find it gratifying to help people there is no better time for you to step up and proclaim it.  You no longer are just helping people with a critically important purchase or sale.  You have, today more then ever, the opportunity to drastically improve the quality of peoples lives.  Are you going to allow your neighbor to walk away from their home, ruin their credit and their pride?  Or are you going to get the education and coaching you need to step up and help them retain some dignity.  Our industry needs courageous, ethical, service driven Realtors.  And I personally have a priority to help build and educate this network.

America needs you to step up and do the best you can in 2010.

I love Swami's, and the koi are simply magnificent.
