I want to tell you that I am so very proud of my children. They are not "children" any longer... they are mature adults, in fact they would say that they are getting a little long in years. Of course I disagree because if they are getting a little long in years, you know what that makes me!
My eldest child, Gail, has always been a blessing.
She was always a "good girl", helping others, trying to always do the right thing. Her area of expertise was drama... her choice of majors in college.
When college was over, she toured for a year with a theatre company. Then she got married, had children..
It is strange sometimes the twists that our life roads take us on... she wound up working with physically and sometimes emotionally challenged adults.
I have watched her with them... the theatre major has stood her well. Very creative person.
My middle child, D V (We call him Doug) is a good man.
His degree is in metal fabrication (whatever that is).
Very talented in so many ways...can build just about anything.. works as a log home builder and contractor.
He also rides bareback horses in the PRCA... NFR this year. Very creative person.
Our youngest, Philip is also a good man. He is a carpenter, wood crafter... just about anything that you want to do, he'll take it on... masonry..
I have paintings and drawings framed hanging in my home that he has done that compete with many in the world. I hang them proudly. Very creative person.
Here's the kick.. my children all have artistic skills, all in different areas.
My degree is in education... math and science. Christian counseling after that. Real Estate Broker. Have taught math, science, physical education, computer science, the gifted and talented program..
My husband's degree is in chemistry...minor in math and computer science.
My children make me smile... I don't know where they got their desire and talent to work in the different artistic areas that they do, but I am so glad that each one of them chose their own path independent of "set in place" expectations. It is always an interesting gathering when we come together as a family.
Each of my children has a daughter born in 1994. All three grandchildren are girls. The three granddaughers were born in July. Their birthdays are all within a week of each other. Very intereting when they all gather together for holidays. My Children and Family make me smile. I love them.
This has been Thanksgiving week. Time with familhy and friends... we'd love to hear about something good that happened to you this week or Something about your family that makes you smile.
