Speechless Sunday - Cows on the Driving Range

By
Real Estate Agent with McGraw Realtors

Time to MOOve!

Time to MOOve!

This property is located at the corner of Garnett and 106th Street North in Owasso, Oklahoma.  Although hard to see, it is a driving range that went out of business.  Today the cows enjoy the pasture instead of the golfers.  As you can see, the property is for sale.  There is another prime corner across the street that is for sale also.  Go up or down Garnett and you'll find lots of other prime property for sale.  The problem is that the properties are all commercial and commercial development is pretty much at a stand still in Owasso right now.

So the cows are enjoying their opportunity to not get dinged by golf balls.

Bob...Looks nice, you should put up a sign on the property that says...."Eat Mor Chikin" to help out those cows!

Hi Bob:

Well, at least someone is using that land in the meantime!

Hate to see any business shutdown.

I don't know, maybe under the circumstances, a pasture is the highest and best use!  Strange times out there....

We have elk, here, on the active golf course (at night, not day). And the Canadian geese graze the course during the day.

Now I gotta tell you this is the last thing I was imaging with your title.  Living in a big city I never see things like this anymore.  I enjoyed this spin around the country side - very mooving. lol

Hi Bob!
Well, between Mryl's post about the golf course being used as a snowmobile park and yours with a retired driving range being used by cows, I am getting a whole new appreciation for alternative uses for golf courses!  Commercial is truly suffering here as well...it is very sad.

Many golf courses and subdivisions were pastures just a few years ago. I'm always amazed at the effects of migration. Can you say Eastland Mall?

Bob,

Cows are supposed to be on the range and when there's a cattle drive, they'd be driving on the range. :)
