CHINESE DRYWALL, WHAT A MESS!

By
Home Inspector with AFFIRMATIVE HOME INSPECTIONS

AIR CONDITIONING DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF CHINESE DRYWALL!

More and more of our Home Inspections are coming up positive for Chinese Drywall.

How important do you think a Home Inspection is?

Maybe you have Chinese drywall and don't even know it!

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOME BUILDERS
RECOMMENDS RIP AND TEAR OUT

Today the National Home Builders Association rejected drywall
treatments and agreed that all drywall must be removed, along
with plumbing, all low voltage wiring and carpet.  Homes must be
HEPA vacuumed and aired out.  Removal of high voltage wiring
may be necessary.

Chinese drywall corrodes electrical wiring.  Check the electrical receptacles in
your walls to see if the wires are blackened.  Pull off the electrical plate and
look inside.  Obviously, do not touch anything - you could get shocked.   There
should be a copper wire inside.  See picture to the left (below).   The wires in
the picture to the right have been corroded from Chinese drywall.   The breaker
panel should also be checked.

Buying, Selling or Renting, Chinese Drywall is a big problem. Find out now if your home has Chinese Drywall before your Health takes a turn for the worse.

James:  I had heard about some of the controversy concerning Chinese drywall... but did not know ANY of the stuff you have shared here.  Thanks so much for keeping us up to date, and letting us know what we should be on the lookout for.  Have a Great Sunday !

What does a four point inspection in tail. I moved in my house found garage door opener not working. Refrigerator not hooked up with ice and water. 4 valves under sink leaking. Aren’t these covered in your inspection.
