It's All About the Details ... from Ocean City, New Jersey

So you begin the process of gathering the information to write a Contract for the purchase of a sale property, or you start to negotiate the sale price after the contract has been reviewed by the Seller (depending whether you represent the Seller or Buyer), or you reach a fully executed Contract Agreement, and now you must lock up the Due Dates for everything from deposits to house inspection, to closing and everything in-between. And a lot more that I have decided to leave out which mostly readers could add for themselves.

It's all about the Details.  Or "the Devil is in the Details," as many old timers say.  Mostly, all of his have a tendency that leans one way or the other; some have that tendency leaning much more one way than the other.  I'm talking about "left brain" or "right brain" thinking.  Consider it as one who can do the taxes ... very left brain, or one who could organize a game plan for a high school football team with only two minutes left in the game ... or NCAA March Madness with 30 seconds remaining on the clock ... very right brain.

One can always "goggle the topic" and find a lot more about it ... but my point is that you are probably 60-40 one way or the other.  Some are 70-30 one way or the other, and a few more hit the 80/90-20/10 one way or the other.  That impacts your entire personality, your actions, your way of doing things.  Often you connect with others of the same tendencies ... sometimes you connect with opposites.  It's amazing the variety that one can find.

In real estate, and life ... I lean a good bit to the right brain aspect in just about everything.  So to balance myself, I keep a lot of notes ... my details.  I also keep a "paper trail," which as always served me well.  I also have added an email trail ... not unlike a paper trail.  Finally, I always add a series of due dates right after a contract has been signed by all parties, review it with the other agent, and send it out to my buyer or seller.  That becomes our direction for the rest of the process.                                             dap
