Come Together-- One and One and One Is Three...

Come TogetherThe deal that would not close has finally... yep, you guessed it... 'come together' and closed [well, it closed in late May but was in stealth mode pending a press release and announcement by NAR, which finally came together today].  This deal is probably different than the average deal we all do every day but the process is the same.  Whether it's a house, a mortgage loan, a staging, or a major strategic alliance, the process is essentially a familiar one.  And patience will help your sanity throughout the process.

Someone with something to offer looks for someone that needs the 'something' offered and usually someone else helps to bring them together-- directly or indirectly.  A market and a transaction is made because one and one and one still makes three.  Basic.  Clean.  Natural.  Why, then, do we make it so difficult sometimes to 'do the math' and make deals just happen?  I wondered about this and I think I found a few good reasons why [well, a few reasons, anyway...]:

  1. Because we know we need it and we want it but, darn it, there just might be a better one out there.
  2. Because we think we can get more than what's being offered by waiting.
  3. Because we avoid regret innately, and making decisions can lead to regrets.
  4. Because we don't understand the words and we don't want anyone else to know.
  5. Because we wear walrus gumboot.

What other reason could there be?

Because he's so hard to see, maybe?  This song always puzzled me too but there was a good reason I was confused.
