The Houston Association of Realtor's website HAR.com is not only celebrating its 10th anniversary but has also won two outstanding website awards by NAR. There were actually five categories of awards; Outstanding Design, Outstanding Education Feature, Outstanding Online Property Search, Outstanding Online Newsletter and Outstanding Member Service Feature. The two 2007 Awards that HAR won for were Outstanding Education Feature with their real estate course finder and most importantly Outstanding Online Property Search with their home finder. To me winning for the Online Property Search is a bull's eye for HAR.
I have been in real estate for the same amount of years as the website so I have always taken it for granted. I did not realize how many areas do not have a public MLS until I became involved with Active Rain. I have come to really appreciate the benefit that this public MLS provides for us and our clients. My customers are able to link directly to HAR's online property search through my personal website. If someone wants additional information from any home they see while visiting HAR through my website the request will be sent to me in an email and often I also receive a phone message letting me know that I have a new request. It is a Win/Win situation.
The greater Houston area encompasses a very large area and this one website provides online property searches for Houston and all the surrounding areas. This would include Conroe, Sugarland, Katy, Bay Town, The Woodlands, Spring, Stafford, etc. You get the idea you don't have to go to 3 or 4 different MLS to get your information it is all provided at one site http://www.har.com/.
I just want to personally thank HAR for the technology support that they provide us and I am looking forward to the innovations that happen in the next 10 years.
