Prayer Vs. Credit Repair? You Decide!

Mortgage and Lending with Lend Smart Mortgage NMLS#207208 NMLS 207208

Recently I encountered a situation with a very nice client and what he said to me took me off guard.  I had a client that had some major credit issues.  His best option to buy a home was going to be credit repair.  I gave him all the normal advice about working and tackling the issues head on, but at the end of the day he wanted to use the power of prayer.  Now I am not trying to make this into some spiritual discussion, so I told my client I felt that would help, but again this was not going to fix the problem.

Now, my take on this was the fact that the client was in a shock about his credit and in denial that he had some major obstacles to overcome.

So I share the old adage, of "How to Eat an Elephant?"

"One Bite at a time"

Well this applies also to credit repair.  Getting your credit fixed is not the easiest challenge but not doing anything, is also not going to make home-ownership a reality either.  A couple of years ago I wrote a blog post titled:  Don't get your Head Caught in the Sand

Now the topic was different than today with credit repair, but again the principal has stayed the same and that is NOT TAKING ACTION.

Without taking on responsibility and action the problems around us are just not going to go away.  I am here to help clients and others make this reality of home-ownership possible, but it requires action.

Yes Gary, you are right prayer moves mountains, but faith witout works is dead, so as much as we pray we must take action, especially if you want to obtain something important like a home, thanks.

I feel sometimes in our life we need the lord to guide us and show us the way. It doesnt mean you expect him to do it all, but even getting to the mind set of even wanting to fix your credit takes maturity and the lord has worked on you to get serious about life. Why not seek his guidance as to the next steps to follow for getting to the next level he seeks for us. Praying on it doesn't mean sitting on your butt it just means people seek guidance and favor whether it be meeting someone to help steer you in the right credit direction. A financial blessing such as a part time job, raise at work, or inheritence to jump start you credit repair prayers. The lord can also help a person to have self control with frivalous spending and to be more focused on there goal. So I do believe in prayer for anything. If you do your part the lord will surely do his !!!  Only believers can understanding this because if you don't believe in anything, but yourself this concept wouldnt make sense.

End-consumers and Realtors must check references of credit repair companies. There are good credit repair professionals, who emphasize proper handling of consumer credit, and not just short term tricks to remove derogatories. Many potential home buyers are only 3 to 6 months away from repairing their credit and qualifying for a home. However, time isn't the only factor. They must follow the advice of a professional to accelerate their credit repair and to avoid making simple mistakes that can cause big credit score setbacks.
