Wednesday wonders- And you think your job is tough!

By
Real Estate Agent with Raleigh Cary Realty

Helping our clients buy and sell homes may not be easy, but visiting Asheville, North Carolina last weekend I noticed some workers doing a job that's definitely not for the faint of heart!

Grove Park Inn Renovation

The Grove Park Inn, listed as a Historical Hotel of America, is undergoing a roof renovation.

Not only were these workers 4-5 stories up, and on top of a mountain, but they were walking on slippery curved roof tiles.

The view might have been lovely, but I certainly wouldn't have been looking down.

I'll keep my feet on the ground and sell houses!

What a great home, Can you imagine how much that roof costs?

Linda, that job is definitely not easy, but it's more predictable than ours.  Plus, roofs tend not to cruise the streets and call others while surfing the net!

Carol- Yep, that's what I thought too. thanks for commenting.

Robert- Fortunately this is not a home- it's the Grove Park Inn- a 520 room historical hotel.  I think I saw that the roof renovation was costing Millions!

Gabe- you're right! I guess our job has some danger to it also.  And they do go home with a paycheck every week.  Thanks for stopping in.

That is  a huge Inn!

RE Gabes comment:  I always thought that people with jobs like carpenters must really go home with a sense of accomplisment at the end of the day... They can stand back and see what they accomplished... How often can we actually "see" what we did at the end of a day?

Hi Linda, I like your new photo!  As for the roof, I don't do well with heights, but with harness and tie downs I'd probably be OK, it's backbreaking working though!  It's going to be beautiful when they are done.
