It was an epiphany. Or at least as close to an epiphany as I think I have ever had. There I was riding in the car with my mother when she began to talk about moving into a condo.
"Why on earth would you want to move into a condo?" I asked her. Now I have nothing against condo owners, you just need to understand that my mother LOVES her house, and spending her free time doing a little gardening.
"I am just getting tired of all the work. Moving to a condo would just make everything easier." She responded.
"Why don't you hire a property management company?" I asked. Before she could respond, it hit me that there really aren't any property management companies that do that. That was the epiphany. No heavenly sounds, no lightning bolts, but a definite feeling of "Well I'll be".
Later that day One Call Property Care was born... in my mind at any rate. The real process of starting a business is never quite so simple. It always starts with a great idea, but making a business out of an idea takes much more work.

So now my mother gets the convenience of condo living, AND she gets to stay in her house. I get the joy of running a great business, and my mother gets to putter in her garden still. It doesn't get much better than that.
