Corexit is similar to Agent Orange

BP has used over 850,000 gallons of the dangerous dispersant Corexit 9500 and 9527 to hide the oil leaking in the Gulf of Mexico.

Such enormous quantities have never been used before and no one knows what the effects of BP's actions will be.  Animals are dying and people are getting sick.  Meanwhile BP is denying any association between these fatalities and illnesses and its indiscriminate use of Corexit.

Dr. Seth Forman appeared on MSNBC this morning and talked about this problem.  He likened Corexit to Agent Orange.

BP=Biological Predator

Many of you may be wondering what a blog like this is doing as a Featured Post on the Optimist Group.

Being an Optimist does not mean being happy all the time.  Being an Optimist simply means that you look for the bright side in everything.  It means that you have HOPE.  The glass is half full.

Problems exit; that's a fact of Life.  How you deal with these problems predicates the direction of your Life.

I am an Optimist!  I believe that we have a Future!  In spite of the extraordinary circumstances ongoing in the Gulf of Mexico, I believe that if we make a stand for Life, we'll have a future.

BP is currently exterminating Life in the Gulf of Mexico.  This much is true.  Our actions will decide our fate.  None of us are insulated from this disaster.  Please join us in insisting that our Government takes control of the oil spill clean up and mandates a stop to the usage of this dangerous chemical, the effects of which are unfolding as you are reading these lines, yet the brunt of the destruction will continue to be seen for years to come.

What exactly did this expert suggest BP do to get rid of the oil?

Team Honeycutt:  There are other dispersants that are not toxic that BP can use, and other ways the oil could be contained.  The many choices available would of course cost more money than BP is willing to spend to correct the problem.

Dr Forman says the chemical used - corexit - is similar to Agent Orange, if he also advocates paying compensation to the victims of corexit, In would hope that he remembers the millions affected by Agent Orange used by the US in their war on Vietnam and would support, campaign for them also to be compensated.
