Lucy Sings The Blues

I was driving through a parking lot where both my MLS and local AOR have their offices when I caught something very blue out of the corner of my eye.  What is that, I thought, a smurf?  So of course I had to loop around to get a closer look.

It's Lucy!  Thirty Lucy Van Pelt statues, all hand painted a different theme by local artists, were released for public display last week and I had just found one of them.  And she isn't alone.  A few yards away is her Peanuts pal Snoopy.  I'm nuts for Peanuts.

Those are pretty cool. What's all that blue stuff and bottles around Snoopy?

Lizette - this is wine country, those are red wine grapes, wine bottles and a wine barrel.  The reflection in Snoopy's sunglasses is a vineyard.

Barbara - we certainly get a kick out of them.

Cynthia...

Those are awesome and very playful sculptures. I really miss the "Peanuts" gang in the comics.

Valet Real Estate ServicesPeanuts is an all-time favorite.  I agree with Robert, that Snoopy statue has style!  Remember how Snoopy used to lay on the top ridge of his doghouse?  We rarely questoned he could do it, but I now know he "really" could!

Sasha the Wonder Dog is chillin' on the foot of my recliner demonstrating Snoopy's form!

Charles Schulz brought so much joy to many of our lives that he is bound to be smiling on all of us "grown ups" from his rightful place in heaven.

Richard - I never tire of this stuff.  Every time I see a Peanuts statue in town (there are about two hundred now) I smile.

Robert - I had read that the statues were released in public, but this is the first (Lucy) I have come across.  And yes it was a GREAT surprise, I loved it.  Grinning from ear to ear!!

Vic - Snoopy is my favorite, especially when he would be the WWI flying ace.  And when Snoopy would kiss Lucy and she would get the heebie jeebies spewing "ewwwww, dog germs!!".  Sasha is beautiful!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cynthia....I love the statue pictures.  It is always nice when a community does this sort of thing with local artist participation.
