to sleep, perchance to dream.

In Greek mythology, Hypnos is the god of Sleep. (not to be confused with his brother Thanatos, the god of a more "permanent sleep")

We all think we're invincible, especially we Realtors, who work endless hours and endless days in a row, barely taking a breath, let alone sleeping, lest we miss an opportunity to help someone buy or sell their home.

Don't underestimate the value of refreshing, reviving, redemptive, renewing sleep.  I intend to make full use of this long holiday weekend by participating in some of my favourite activities.

* Sleep - I'm going to catch up on some of it.
* Drink - I plan on sharing some cognac or brandy with some buddies, around an outdoor fireplace, after the 4th of July parade.
* Smoke - at the aforementioned cognac imbibing, there might be a leaf or two set on fire, and enjoyed. I'm talking about a cigar, of course (what were YOU thinking about?)
* Eat - (the wrong foods) there will, undoubtedly, be some hot dogs, bratwurst, polish sausages and hamburgers eaten... along with coleslaw, potato salad and the like, and who knows... maybe a jello mold or ice-cream cake.

I will, assuredly, regret those activities on Tuesday, when I attempt to return to the real world... but I imagine, if I sleep on it... I'll be able to put it out of my mind.

ahh... to sleep, perchance to dream.  Aye, there's the rub.

Alan, I love it!  But Jello mold?

Hot dogs are my downfall.

Alan, This is so true. Recharging the brain and body are a must. Then when we go back to the grind we are way more on top of our game.

Resting is a must. I am unwinding by watching episodes of The Sopranos with my son who is here visiting from NY, then the beach tomorrow with the dog.

Marcy - all of those sound fun... say hi to the son, and pet the dog for me... (don't get those confused)
