Scott & White opened its 72-bed University Medical Campus Hospital in Round Rock. This is the system's first hospital outside its home base of Bell County.
The Temple-based health system broke ground on the 68-acre campus nearly two years ago. The campus is now home to more than 30 physicians representing more than 24 specialties.
"We have been eagerly anticipating this day," said Ernie Bovio, CEO of UMCH. "We have worked diligently over the past few weeks to train and reinforce our processes and to establish a culture of service excellence."
Scott & White has nearly 350 staff members on campus.
"The hospital's location, Scott & White's integrated system and our affiliation with the Texas A&M University Health Science Center make us an attractive employer," Bovio said. "We went through a selective process to recruit a strong, experienced group of physicians and staff."
Along with state of the art diagnostic imaging capabilities, Scott & White's key services will include heart and vascular care, orthopedics and women's services.
"We are well prepared and delighted to extend our hospital services to the residents in the greater Williamson County area," said the UMCH Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dudley Baker. "Our services were designed with this community in mind. We think this campus is a good fit for the area."
As a resident in this area, I have to say that this hospital is very much a welcome part of the community! It truly is a beautiful facillity with fantastic health care providers ready to serve our needs!!
Glad you are here Scott & White!!
