Customer Service: How to Form Good Customer Relations in Real Estate and Any Business

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty

"Marketing is, as we have known it, all about customer relations in the future." How do we form good customer relations? This About.com article by Susan Ward says it the best: 8 Rules for Good Customer Service.

Customer service is the lifeblood of any business. Good customer service recognizes the long term value of customer relationships and extends communication beyond advertising and sales messages. The one true secret of good customer service and acting accordingly; "You will be judged by what you do, not what you say."

1) Answer your phone.

2) Don't make promises unless you WILL keep them.

3) Listen to your customers.

4) Deal with complaints.

5) Be helpful - even if there's no immediate profit in it.

6) Train your staff (if you have any) to be ALWAYS helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable.

7) Take the extra step.

8) Throw in something extra.

Stephanie,

Love your post! I get frustrated when alot of agents don't do #1! Don't they want to sell their listings? :)
